Utah Adventure Elopements

For The Bold, The Wild, And The In Love.

This Isn’t Your Standard Elopement. This Is Your Dream Wedding, Vacation, And Honeymoon All Wrapped Into One Wild Package.

It sounds funny when you read that – ‘standard elopement’. Elopements in and of themselves are anything but standard. You two don’t have a standard love story, and there’s nothing standard about the dream that you have in your heart for your wedding day. So I say – to hell with ‘standard’. That’s not what you’re going to find here. You two do things differently and so do I. You see, I don’t just show up on your wedding day, take some nice photos of you out in nature, and then email you a gallery a few months later. No, no, no, my new friends. I plan a day so beyond your wildest expectations that you’ll be thinking and talking about it for years to come.

When you choose me as your elopement photographer, you get a photographer AND full-service vacation + wedding planner wrapped up into one.

You two deserve for your day to play out exactly as you’re envisioning it. Whether that looks like… Being pampered by a full hair and makeup team in the morning, a beautiful hike to your dream location, and ending the day with a sunset helicopter tour… Or starting your day off on a sunrise hike, saying ‘I do’ just as the sun peeks out over the canyon, setting off to do some canyoneering, and wrapping the day off with a beer and a burger… Or anything in between… I’ve got you covered.

And depending on the level of support you want from me, I can help plan your entire vacation and/or honeymoon in Utah including hotels, transportation, sightseeing, restaurants and bars, spas, and all the fun things in between. I’m like your own personal Trip Advisor. Let me take things from here.

There are so many good things that we can say about Sarah at Wild Is Our Love. We are so thankful that we found her website while searching for adventure elopement photographers near Zion National Park. Just like almost every couple who had a wedding planned in 2020, so many things changed for us, but we are so glad that they did. We weren’t going to have a photographer at our big wedding so when we decided to elope we knew we had to find someone who could help us capture the essence and sheer magnitude of Zion and Wild Is Our Love did just that.

From the first email with Sarah, I was sold. She instantly felt like someone who wanted to be your friend more than just another client.

She never pressured us to book her as a photographer; she even went so far as to tell us that even if we didn’t choose her as our photographer, she was always available to answer any questions we had about Zion or anything wedding related. She is also extremely flexible with everything: we changed our locations a few times (time constraints), she was all for it; the person we chose as our officiant couldn’t make it because of COVID restrictions, she stepped in and offered to officiate in their place.

We spent 6 hours with Sarah on our wedding day and it felt as if we had known her forever. It was the perfect day, due in large part to Sarah. She had everything prepared so we didn’t have to worry about much (even snacks & water in case we didn’t have any that day). We definitely feel like she became part of our family that day.

We received an album of about 20 photos as a sneak peak, [with the rest] of the photos to come within a few weeks of the wedding; and what’s more impressive is the full edited gallery of almost 600 pictures was ready within 60 days of our wedding. The photos themselves exceed our expectations. She captured moments between my husband and I that we didn’t even know she was taking. It was truly one of the best days of our lives and we couldn’t have had it without Sarah.

Utah Is My One True Love.

It’s the best place in the entire world. And I cannot wait to show you around. Most elopement photographers LOVE travelling to other states, exploring different parks, and finding new spots to take their couples to. I love that for them. But me? I am obsessed with Utah.

There is nowhere I would rather be, nowhere that I know better, and I bring that obsession along on your wedding day. So if it’s your dream to get married in Utah, I already know we’re going to be best friends. And because I love this state so much, I am fiercely committed to preserving it. That’s why all of my services are as green as possible – from the food packaging that I bring, to the solar panels that power my computer while I edit your photos, to the boxes and gifts I send out – everything is environmentally friendly and decompostable, recyclable, and/or renewable. We leave absolutely no trace of you two being here – except for your footprints in the dirt and the photos on my camera roll. And if education is your thing, I’ll put my forestry degree to use and tell you everything that you want to know about the forest we’re in, the trails we’re on, the canyon we’re in, the area that surrounds us, and the creatures that inhabit it.

You Were Likely Drawn To "Wild Is Our Love" Because Of The Photos.

There’s a reason for that: They truly stand out.

I don’t use any kind of presets or blanket-editing techniques. For each hour of the day that we spend together, you get 15 highly-edited photos. That means that I go through each of the photos one-by-one in Photoshop and edit them for exposure, color-correction, and blemishes. This process is called ‘hand painting’ and because it’s so time-consuming, a lot of photographers have moved away from offering it. But next to spending the day capturing your love, hand painting your photos is one of my favorite parts of what I do. And the results are SO worth it.

Now – this doesn’t mean that you only receive 15 photos per hour of your wedding day. I also send over a full gallery of hundreds of more photos with basic edits done for exposure and color-correction. I also make sure to send over a sneak peek of up to 20 images within 24 hours… So you can share special moments throughout your day with your family and friends right away. First impressions are important and I want everyone to see what an amazing day you had and how gorgeous you two looked – photos from your phone just won’t do the same justice.

I Also Love Photographing Intimate Weddings

If you’re looking to invite guests to your wedding, I am happy to accommodate up to 35 people! Anything larger becomes very difficult logistically and severely limits the cool things that I’m able to plan for you. If you’re planning to add guests, please make sure you indicate that on your intake form.

It depends on the location and the time of year, but yes, I do shoot and plan elopements outside of Utah. Please get in touch to find out if your location and date work with my schedule!

Yes with a capital Y! Engagements are so special and I can’t wait to capture that special moment for you two. Obviously, the vendors and logistics will look a little bit different than a wedding, but I’ll plan the best engagement ever for you.

You bet! I’m happy to support you with photo-only packages that don’t include planning. Please indicate this on your intake form.

I don’t include full retouching services in my packages, but do offer the ability to add on retouching such as removal of objects, removal of hair flyaways, etc for an additional charge.

Sarah was absolutely AMAZING! I was initially impressed with Sarah’s work after finding her online. I needed a photographer for a proposal I had planned. Traveling from the other side of the country, and not knowing the area at all I was blown away by Sarah’s willingness to help me.  She was not only my photographer but my pseudo-event planner!

During our initial call, Sarah helped me plan the perfect location for the proposal and walked me through the steps to get the best photos. Sarah also provided me with PDF files for what to do while in town, where to stay and where to have a romantic dinner after the proposal. Hands down the best experience I’ve ever had with any photographer, and I’ve worked with quiet a few. Sarah captured the moment perfectly and I wouldn’t have done it without her.  Thank you so much Sarah! I am forever grateful to you.”
